From the ergonomically designed interior, the superior engineering of our Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and other innovative new technologies, like Subaru Intelligent Drive - our pursuit is a safer more satisfying and exhilarating driving experience. That's why Subaru is famous for design quality and reliability.
All-Wheel Drive isn't unique but Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is, and unlike other manufacturers, All-Wheel Drive is fitted to every model. AWD offers superb traction and handling from all four wheels.
Subaru has been using Horizontally Opposed Boxer engines in production motor vehicles since 1966. The Boxer layout offers advantages in weight and size. Length and height are considerably less than an in-line engine. Its centre of gravity is low and closer to the centre of the car, meaning better, more stable cornering also contributing to fuel efficiency and improved handling. An added safety advantage of the Boxer layout is in the event of a frontal collision, the engine is allowed to slide below the cabin rather than into it.
